Gelato Experience at the Italian Club

Gelato Experience at the Italian Club

Junior School girls in Italian Club were ‘immersed’ in a gelato experience this week. Not only did they taste artisan Italian gelato kindly offered by Prof Tagliabue, alias maestra Elisa and maestra Rosa, but they also learnt about the origins of Italian gelato, which was invented around 1550 in Florence by Bernardo Buontalenti, a Renaissance man of many ‘talenti’, indeed.

In order to receive gelato, the girls need to learn how to ask for a gelato in Italian. No Italian, no gelato! You should have seen their commitment in trying to learn the lines: posso avere un gelato per favore? In the end, everyone was able to order a gelato in Italian. Bravissime tutte!
