From the Head of Junior School

Illuminate

It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our girls’ creative talents during this week’s Illuminate Festival, a joint initiative with our Junior School Art and STEM Departments and the Senior School. This is our own version of Vivid! The artistic achievements of all our students never cease to amaze me, and this year’s festival did not disappoint. Congratulations to all students involved.

Photos from the event can be viewed on the MLC School Facebook page.

Kindergarten to Year 5 Athletics Carnival

It was great to see so many parents and grandparents dressed in House colours at the Kindergarten to Year 5 Athletics Carnival at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Warm Up Track on Thursday. The weather was perfect, as was the enthusiastic House spirit on and off the field. The girls (along with the staff and many parents) were dressed up in their House colours and they cheered for their team. The winning House and age campions will be presented at our final Term 2 assembly next Thursday.

More photos from the day will be shared on the MLC School Facebook page soon.

Pre-K Take Over the Junior School Campus

Whilst Kindergarten to Year 5 students were at their Athletics Carnival, Pre-K decided to look after the campus. They visited Illuminate, and then the Junior School studios. They noticed how tall the Year 5 girls are, played on the ‘big girl’s’ yard and even took over the Head of Junior School’s office!

Groove

Next Wednesday 21 June 2023, we host Groove at the Camelot Lounge in Marrickville. This is an opportunity for our jazz musicians from Year 5 and Year 6, with our Senior School students, to perform in a public venue.
