From the Head of Junior School

It has been a week of mixed emotions at MLC School this week. We said ‘so long, farewell’ to our Year 12 students and wish them well. Our very excited Kindergarten girls sang So Long, Farewell from the The Sound of Music to our Year 12 girls at their final assembly. I do not think there was a dry eye amongst the graduating class. There was another touching moment when the senior girls who have attended MLC School since Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten received a farewell card from our youngest students who created a portrait of the big girls! We wish our Year 12 students the very best for their approaching final exams next term.

We also said farewell to our Deputy Principal, Frances Booth. The Kindergarten girls surprised Frances with another rendition of So Long, Farewell with many of the Junior School girls and staff. We wish Frances the very best as she commences her new role as Principal at Korowa Anglican Girls School in Melbourne.

We had many parents onsite this week. Along with Year 12 and Year 6 , Year 3 and Year 1 parents also visited our school for their Celebrations of Learning. Thank you, parents, for taking time to share the importance of learning and show the value of learning here at MLC School.

Year 6 Showcase

It was a very significant and successful event on Monday evening for Year 6 girls as they hosted their annual ‘Showcase’. This evening is an opportunity for each girl to display their skills in chosen area to research as well as share their achievements in other subjects. It was wonderful to see all our Year 6 parents participating, interviewing the girls about their area of study.  Please read all about the Showcase here.
