Congratulations to our Interdistrict Tennis Teams

Interdistrict Team 4 2024

The MLC4 2024 U12 team put in an outstanding effort in the Interdistrict final, showcasing significant improvement throughout the competition.

Maggie Ma (Year 6) was the standout player, delivering a brilliant performance. Remy Pereira (Year 5) and Annika Bou (Year 5) also made huge strides in their game, contributing greatly to the team’s efforts.

Although the team narrowly lost, it was a hard-fought match and a valuable learning experience. This experience will undoubtedly make the team stronger for the next term’s IPSHA competition against other schools.

A special thanks to Rayna Zhu (Year 5) for being our dedicated reserve throughout the competition. Your support was invaluable!

Great job to the entire team! Keep up the hard work and continue to improve. Looking forward to seeing even more progress in the next competition!

 Interdistrict Team 3 2024

The MLC3 2024 U14 team had a wonderful interdistrict competition. The dedication and hard work of the team were evident as they progressed through the tournament, culminating in a thrilling final against Illawarra, the very team they faced in their opening match.

Yasmine Allam (Year 7), Kyra Narang (Year 9), and Chiarah Nguyen (Year 7) had worked tirelessly all semester, and their determination paid off as they made it to the finals. The journey was filled with challenges, but the team’s resilience and spirit shone through.

In the doubles match, Yasmine and Kyra initially struggled, finding themselves down a break. However, they demonstrated remarkable tenacity, finding their rhythm and taking the lead at 4-3. Despite their efforts, a few double faults proved decisive, and they narrowly lost the match. Their ability to bounce back and fight hard was commendable.

In the singles, Kyra faced a familiar opponent, having played against her previously. Kyra started strong, winning the first set and putting immense pressure on her opponent with her relentless returns, returning every ball with precision. However, midway through the match, her opponent’s top shots became too fast and accurate, ultimately leading to a challenging defeat for Kyra. Her performance, however, was a testament to her growth and skill.

The final doubles match saw Yasmine and Chiara displaying excellent chemistry on the court. Their communication was seamless, and they executed great passing shots and volleys. Despite their fierce efforts, their opponents matched their intensity, resulting in a series of close games. Although MLC3 did not secure the win, Yasmine, Kyra, and Chiara left the court with their heads held high, knowing they gave 100% effort.

The team finished the tournament with finalist medals, a fitting recognition of their hard work and perseverance. The experience gained from this competition will undoubtedly strengthen the team for future challenges.

Great job to the entire team! Your hard work, determination, and sportsmanship have been truly inspiring. Keep pushing forward, and we look forward to seeing even greater achievements in the next competition!
