Volleyball
The Friday Night Volleyball competition is an interschool sporting event held weekly at Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College. Our Senior representative team plays against other schools in a series of evening matches throughout the term, and after three weeks, we’ve started the season strong.
The competition gives our players the chance to put their skills into practice in a high-energy, supportive setting. The team has stayed undefeated so far, taking solid wins over Meriden, Barker, and St Scholastica’s, without dropping a single set. Each match has shown how well the players are working together, with sharp communication, smart plays, and a lot of trust on court. It’s been a fun way to end the school week and the players have taken each game as an opportunity to grow, both individually and as a team.

Netball Umpiring Update
Celebrating Olivia Burke’s Success in the Umpire Development Program
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the wonderful achievement of Year 8 student, Olivia Burke, who has been participating in the Umpire Development Program at Eastwood Ryde Netball Association. This short but impactful six-week program provides students with the opportunity to build their umpiring knowledge and skills while being mentored by experienced umpires, all with just a Saturday morning commitment.
Olivia has spent the last five weeks learning the ins and outs of umpiring, guided by her mentor Riley Chantler, a 2024 Old Girl. Under Riley’s support and encouragement, Olivia has grown in both confidence and capability, showing strong leadership and decision-making on the court.
Now entering her final week of the program, Olivia is preparing to umpire full games independently, a testament to her dedication and progress. Watching her develop each week has been inspiring, and her enthusiasm and commitment have not gone unnoticed.
We congratulate Olivia on her efforts and can’t wait to see her in action on the court. Her journey is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through hard work and guidance, and we hope it encourages more students to take part in the Umpire Development Program in the 2026 netball season.
