Year 12

Year 12

This week has been an extraordinary journey of reflection, last lessons, connections with friends and teachers and planning for the future.

As I write this, we have had a wonderful day on Wednesday, with the final Senior School Assembly, House lunches and the final countdown and last lesson. The whole School turned out to wish Year 12 all the best for their examinations and next year. The girls felt very humbled and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when the Kindergarten students sang Auf Wiedersehn Goodbye from the Sound of Music – a true MLC School tradition.

Earlier in the week, the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, or ‘lifers’, spent a morning with Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in the Junior School. They read stories, answered questions and played with the youngest members of MLC School. There were a few tears, and some hugs as the girls said goodbye to former teachers. We thank the Junior School for hosting us for a very special morning.

Year 12 are looking forward to the Valedictory Assembly and Dinner, for one last celebration with family, friends and teachers. To sign off for the last time, I am leaving the last words for 2025 in a beautiful reflection from Marirose Giann, the MLC School Captain for 2025. Her speech on behalf of the year group was presented for the School at the assembly on Wednesday.
