What a Term It’s Been! We wrapped up the IGSA sport season with a fantastic display of talent and teamwork across basketball, hockey, and football last Saturday.

Basketball
Congratulations to the MLC1 Basketball team, who went undefeated all season and capped it off with a thrilling win in their final game!

Hockey
The MLC2 Hockey team played an incredible grand final against Wenona. In a nail-biting finish, they narrowly missed victory in the last 34 seconds. The spirit on the sidelines was just as strong, with siblings, fellow MLC School hockey players, friends, and staff – including Joanna Graffen, Head of Senior School and Lisa Moloney, Principal – cheering loudly from the grandstands.

The Junior School Minkey Hockey team playing in the IPSHA competition finished the season playing super 8 hockey games showing huge improvements in skill and teamwork.

Football – NSWCIS Plate Grand Final
To top off the term, our football team competed in the prestigious NSWCIS Plate Grand Final against Arndell Anglican College. Coached by Richard Burgess, Head of Lester House, the team delivered a dominant performance, scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes and finishing with a 5–2 win. A busload of Year 7 and Year 8 students, decked out in blue face paint and pom poms, brought the energy as they cheered the team on supported by Melissa Boyd, Deputy Principal and Andrew Simos, IB Sports Science Consultant. Next year, we’re bringing drums! The team was thrilled to receive a personal message from Matilda Ellie Carpenter after their win.

Holiday Sport Activities
Sport doesn’t stop over the holidays!

  • Our gymnasts will be training hard in the gym.
  • The swim team will be powering through their winter sessions.
  • The tennis players will be hitting the courts.
  • And for the first time, we’re hosting a Multi-Sport Camp in the first week of the holidays! Students will have the chance to learn, practise, and play tennis, hockey, and basketball. You can sign up for one day or multiple days.

Snowsports
Best of luck to the MLC School Snowsports team, who will be heading to Thredbo in the final week of the holidays to compete in the regional competition.

We can’t wait to see everyone back in Week 1 of Term 3 for another fun-filled and active term!
