Round Square Week Celebrations

This week, our community came alive with the spirit of Round Square Week – a vibrant celebration of global citizenship, adventure, and service. Students embraced the six IDEALS of Round Square, participating in workshops, challenges, and projects that built connections across cultures and inspired leadership in action. Highlights included the Thrift Shop led by Environment Captain Hattie Russell, lunchtime activities, the bake sale and the cultural mufti day which included dancing and performances at lunchtime. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the week made it an excellent final week of term, and we are so proud of everyone who took part. Thank you to Round Square coordinator Xavier Maling and Community and Round Square Captain Khushii Varma and the Year 12 students who made the week a great success.

Prescott Puppy Pageant

Round Square Week also saw us celebrate the joy of dogs on site with the Prescott Puppy Pageant! The girls did so well to organise the day and to raise money for the Seeing Eye Dogs – Vision Australia. Well done to the Head of Prescott House, Henry Wijanto, Hallie Hiss, Prescott House Captain and Skye Humphries, Prescott House Vice-Captain.

Illuminate success

The Illuminate event on Tuesday night showcased the remarkable talents and creativity of our students from the Technology and Applied Sciences (TAS), Visual Arts, and Music departments. Their performances, projects, and artworks were a testament to their dedication and commitment to the arts. We are incredibly proud of the energy and effort every student invested in bringing this celebration of creativity to life. Special thanks goes to Renee Willemson, Head of Department – Technology and Applied Sciences (TAS), Sally Marks, Head of Department – Visual Arts, Trevor Mee, Director of Music and their wonderful team of hardworking teachers for making the evening possible and giving the students an opportunity to showcase their works.

Our House Captains also led their Houses to create a vibrant atmosphere at ‘Side Show Alley’ filling it with fantastic side show alley playable games which was one of the highlights of the evening. Thank you to the Heads of Houses who supported the students to make this happen.

Holidays

As this issue of Audacia comes out, we are likely all exhausted after having a fantastic time at the MLC School Colour Run, coming together as a whole Pre-Kindergarten – Year 12 School community to raise money for the Sony Foundation Camp. I wish you all the best for a restful holiday break.
