Farewelling our Year 12 Cadets
As the 2024/2025 cadet cycle draws to a close, we take this moment to thank and acknowledge the incredible contribution of our Year 12 cadets. Whether serving as Platoon Commanders, Medics, Signallers, or in the Q Store, each senior cadet has taken on significant responsibility this year – not just in title, but in the way they have shown up, led others, and modelled what it means to serve.
Balancing the demands of school, cadets, and leadership is no small feat. The time, care, and commitment each of you has given to supporting the development of your peers has not gone unnoticed. You have left a lasting mark on the unit, and we are deeply grateful.
Congratulations to CUO Zoe Likely and A2 for winning the A Company Platoon Competition, and to CUO Angelina Le and B10, the winner for B Company. Your dedication to your platoons, attention to detail, and leadership have been recognised by your peers and staff alike.
Congratulations to CUO Sophia Grave, who was awarded Cadet Under Officer of the Year 2025 at the Dining in Night on Thursday. She led with quiet confidence, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to her responsibilities. Sophia consistently displayed leadership with clarity and kindness in all her interactions and was described as ‘a true asset to NCACU – a model of what CUOs strive to be within the Australian Army Cadets.’
To all our staff, thank you for your ongoing guidance, encouragement, and expertise. Your contribution to the development of these young leaders is immeasurable, and your support throughout the 2024/2025 cadet cycle has ensured its success.
As we look ahead, we are excited to welcome 65 new Year 8 recruits into our newly established MLCSACU. We look forward to building a strong, inclusive, and inspiring cadet experience for this next generation – with the legacy of our outgoing Year 12 cadets leading the way.
