Year 11

Year 11

Welcome to Week 9 and the end of Term 3 for Year 11. Year 11 are looking forward to the break after a busy term of exams and activities.

Our images this week are of Sutton Luminary completing their Term 3 reflection. The aim of the reflection is for the girls to review the semester to see their strengths and challenges. By writing the reflection, girls get to think more clearly and express their feelings about which areas of life at school where they may need support. A conversation at home about how the term has progressed and what your daughter is looking forward to is important for them to know they have your support and guidance and helps you understand more about them as a learner at this stage of their development.

Our second image this week is of Year 11 in the guard of honour for Year 12 2024. As we lined the girls up, we reminded them that next year would be their turn! It was great to see so many connections between Year 12 and Year 11 and quite a few tears were shed along the way.

We are encouraging Year 11 to take a real break during the holidays. They may read their English texts, for example, but we need them to switch off, get outside, sleep, socialise and spend time with friends and family. We have much to look forward to next term with prefect induction and the Year 11 leadership retreat. On behalf of the Year 11 Luminary team, please enjoy your break from the routine and take care.
