Year 8

Year 8

Dear Year 8 families and girls,

It is with great sadness that I write my final newsletter.

Thank you all so much for your support, assistance, communication, and kindness over the last…..well, few years for some of you and ten years for others. I have been so lucky to be a part of a community that values strength, courage, pride and personal achievement in our students and has allowed me to be able to be a small part in their varying and yet fabulous journeys.

Thank you for putting up with my sports analogies, my dubious sense of humour, and my loud cheering (especially at sporting events); for entrusting me and sharing your stories and worries with me. I am so sorry to say goodbye to you all, as you have given me so much in both my career and personally, and for all of this I sincerely say thank you.

It is with excitement however, that I can introduce Emily Marsh as your new Head of Year 8 for 2024. I have done a great handover with Emily this week and I know she is ready to go! Please contact her next term if you have any concerns you wish to raise with her. I am sure you will enjoy her eloquent newsletters, which coming from an English teacher will be an improvement on my old sport head!!

So, again and finally – thank you – you will all be missed greatly and if you see me out there in the world please stop and say hello!

Have a safe and wonderful break.

– Kylie Bickerstaff
