Congratulations to our Junior Touch Football Team

Congratulations to our Junior Touch Football Team

Congratulations MLC01 Junior Touch Football – you have had an amazing season – you dared to be more and succeeded!

This team was a composite team, composing of students from Year 3 – Year 6 playing in a Year 6 division. The younger girls were still learning to understand the sport, whereas the older girls were starting to develop their skills and match IQ. This difference enabled them to learn from each other and support one another during training and games.

All the girls in the team had their specific roles and executed them with passion, determination and resilience. For example, Emily Wong (Year 3), our youngest player on the team, was nimble, great at advancing ground and always ready to take a touch. Remy Pereira (Year 5), a real team player, ensured everyone was passing to one another and moving together as a team throughout the game. Our MVP for the season Victoria Wai (Year 5), scored seven out of nine tries in one of our games and was slick with her stepping skills dodging the opposition with finesse. Isabelle Kerr (Year 4), our ‘Most Improved Player’ has developed a strong understanding of the game and has honed her positional play. You can often find her on the wing, ready to attack and gain valuable ground, while in defence, she ensures no one gets past her. These are just a few memorable moments of the season.

A massive thanks and shout out must go to the coaches, Micah and Mikayla, whose hard work, coaching skill and encouragement solidified a team and brought about individual and team success. Your encouragement of the girls, game plans and training sessions were a major contributor to the team’s success. Thank you!

Finally, the girls are to be proud of their hard work and overall development this term! They showed how good junior girls sports can be with solid teamwork, support and fun! Way to go MLC01 IPSHA Touch Football team – we cannot wait to see you hit the touch football field in 2025.
