Tennis News – Interdistrict Report
What is Interdistrict?
It’s a club competition involving the top players from each district. As a school we managed to be involved for the last few years to develop the game of MLC School tennis players.
Over the past few weeks, our girls have shown remarkable improvement in various aspects of their game, including attitude, resilience, determination, communication, tactics, shot selection, and consistency.
The MLC School teams participate in different divisions, showcasing their skills and dedication.
U/16 Irene Matthews Cup
Composition:
Number 1: Hannah Olsson (Year 9)
Number 2: Trinity Nguyen (Year 11)
Number 3: Angelina Xu (Year 9)
In a challenging division with tough opponents, this team had to bring their best game to win a few matches. They demonstrated exceptional physical and mental abilities, keeping their heads above water. This competition will serve as valuable experience for the next two terms in IGSA Tennis and Tildesley 2025.
U/14 Wade & Neal Cup Division 2
Composition:
Number 1: Harlow Elsibai (Year 8)
Number 2: Isabella Munoz (Year 9)
Number 3: Georgia Delis (Year 9)
In a highly competitive division, this team utilised their best skills and communication, especially in doubles matches. This experience will be great practice for the upcoming tennis season.
U/14 Wade & Neal Cup Division 3
Composition:
Number 1: Yasmine Allam (Year 7)
Number 2: Kyra Narang (Year 9)
Number 3: Chiarah Nguyen (Year 7)
Reserve: Rayna Zhu (Year 5)
This very young team, led by Yasmine, performed admirably and secured 3rd place in their division.
U/12 Crackanthorp Cup Division 3
Composition:
Number 1: Maggie Ma (Year 6)
Number 2: Remy Pereira (Year 5)
Number 3: Annika Bou (Year 5)
Reserve: Rayna Zhu (Year 5)
This team performed exceptionally well, finishing in 2nd place. Their amazing effort will see them represent the school in IPSHA next term and they are poised to be the emerging players for our Tildesley team in the future.
The dedication and hard work of all the teams have been commendable. Their progress and achievements are a testament to their commitment and passion for the sport. We look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in future competitions.
