Library News – Book Week Theme and Premier’s Reading Challenge

This term in the Library we have been celebrating literature through a focus on the CBCA Book Week Theme; Read. Grow. Inspire.. We have been exploring books shortlisted in both the CBCA and KOALA book awards, with many completing the Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2023. Congratulations to all 249 students who have completed the challenge for 2023.

Book Week Bookmark Competition

On Monday of Week 8 (4 September 2023) we will announce the winners of the Book Mark Competition. We have had so many wonderful entries. It has been very difficult for our Library Captains and Monitors to choose a winner for each grade. Well done girls for your wonderful entries, please see the image gallery below.

Book Week Parade

In Week 8 (Monday 4– Friday 8 September 2023) we celebrate Book Week with a number of activities designed to promote reading and great Australian literature. Throughout the week activities will be planned by the library staff and our captains and the library monitors for all our girls to participate in.

On Friday 8 September 2023, students are encouraged to attend school dressed as a book character that they love as we immerse ourselves in the world of story and explore the theme; Read. Inspire. Grow.

A Book Week Parade is the highlight of our Book Week events and will be held on the hockey fields from 9.15am. So save the date, start thinking about a costume and more details will be shared next week.
