Year 12
It was a wonderful IB Art and HSC Art, Design and Technology exhibition last Friday evening and so exciting to see what all the students have been achieving and working on.
The Wakakirri dancers who performed last week have made it to the next level and will be performing at a competition on the evening of Monday 4 September 2023.
Congratulations to our HSC Drama students Maiee Hanna, Sofia Jury, Alexandra Lasovski, Adriana Re, Mahi Shah, Lily Walker, Jenna Wright, Kate Cvetkovski, Jennisa Ha, Poppy Hardy, Julia Lok, Francesa Morrison, Milla Newman, Lucy Patterson, Pascale Simington, Mikaela Sitaramayya, Tessa Tomkins and Alexandra Varvarigos on performing their final HSC Drama performances on Wednesday 23 August.
At the Senior Years’ Assembly on Wednesday 23 August, with only Year 12 present, we were treated to an End of Year 7 video, which Fiona Pow, Head of Year for the 2023 cohort from Year 7 to Year 9, had presented to the cohort previously in December 2018.
During Luminary time this week, students have been reflecting on their semester in preparation for the Semester 2 reports, voting on graduation items and filling in their autograph books.
Yesterday, the cohort had a special presentation on Post-school Supports: Medical and Psychological, by the Counselling and Student Health Team. We thank John Hensley, School Counsellor, Anna Michalopoulos, Head of Counselling and Student Health, Marion Delprado, School Counsellor, and Catherine Roach, School Nurse, for a valuable and useful presentation that will empower the students to not only understand how to seek health and wellbeing supports leaving school but also to encourage them to take ownership of their health.
As we are now back to regular classes and many of the Final HSC major works are completed, there is a continued expectation that students attend their classes. This is an important time and opportunity for the students to get last-minute advice and teacher feedback. Please support the School by:
- Texting or emailing the Studies Office of absences
- If students are unwell, please encourage them to go to the school nurse, as they must sign out there
- If a student has an appointment and is leaving early with parent permission, they still need to sign out so that we know they are off campus.
- If students have spare periods in either 1ab or 3ab, they still need to be always on-site between 10am to 1.25pm and sign in and out as appropriate
Year 12 should not miss important information regarding final lessons and graduation and are encouraged to attend all classes, Luminaries, assemblies and meetings. With only three weeks left of school, I do encourage all students to make the most of their time at school both academically and by enjoying the final moments.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me via my direct line 8741 3278 or email at arenwick@mlcsyd.nsw.edu.au, if you have any queries, or concerns or simply wish to touch base.
