Year 11
The overnight transformation of our Year 11 cohort has been quite remarkable. Walking around campus this week, I have loved seeing our students in pods, break out spaces and the library working away. They are taking the switch into Senior Years seriously, and already there is an air of focus and determination about the group.
I know that some students have found embarking on new courses a little overwhelming. Many subjects start the course showing the students what they need to be aiming for and explaining what the next two years will look like. The bar is set high. I have spoken to many students and reassured them. Yes, at times it will be hard. Yes, at times they will have an awful lot of work. Yes, at times they will struggle. However, throughout all of this they have an expert team of teachers who will support them, guide them, and ensure that they can flourish. Their teachers have done this year in year out, and we are well versed in coaching and mentoring Year 11 and Year 12 students through the ups and downs of the HSC and IB courses. It’s important now, more than ever, that your daughter asks for help when she needs it whether that be from her subject teacher, her Luminary or me.
