Year 6 Showcase 2020
What a day it was! A tinge of tension, a buzz of excitement and a tonne of courage could be sensed across the Year 6 centre as the girls prepared to present their ‘Agents of Change’ projects. The Year 6 Showcase took on a very different form due to COVID-19 restrictions this year and the upside was that it allowed faraway family members to join in the learning celebrations, via our virtual platform.
Last term our Year 6 girls embarked on an individual inquiry into an issue or inequality existing in our society. Each student carefully considered how they could make a positive impact and their action took various forms. The process was documented in a website which included informative texts, photo essays, infographics, videos, artworks, drama performances and much more. This was all shared via Microsoft Teams with parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents. The girls did an outstanding job showcasing their work and the audience asked thought-provoking questions that extended the girls’ thinking further. The Year 6 teaching team would like to congratulate each and every Year 6 girl on her hard work, her desire to be an engaged citizen, and most of all, for proving that girls and women are truly ‘Agents of Change’.
