Immersive learning at MLC School
At MLC School, immersive learning is key to our educational approach. We believe education extends beyond the classroom, fostering critical thinking and personal growth through diverse experiences. Our Experiential Learning Program includes co-curricular activities, service projects, and outdoor education, placing students in real-world environments. This enhances academic knowledge and equips students with essential life skills for success. Below are highlights of the immersive experiences in the Senior School this term.
Year 10 Urban Challenge Immersion
Our Year 10 girls embarked on an incredible journey across Sydney, embracing challenges with enthusiasm and teamwork. From cracking codes in escape rooms and surfing to budgeting exercises, dance workshops, and preparing meals for those in need, they’ve demonstrated remarkable skills and compassion. These activities are part of our commitment to providing a holistic education that fosters personal growth, resilience, and community spirit.

Duke of Edinburgh Holiday Trips
Over the Term 3 holidays we had a number of students undertaking their Adventurous Journeys and Residential Projects.
A mixture of Year 9 and 10 students headed to Central Australia. The students were lucky to see the waterfalls of Uluṟu in action, as the area experienced one of its rare rain days. As is the case in Central Australia, the rain quickly moved on and was replaced by blue skies. Students continued on to visit the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuṯa, circum-navigate Kings Canyon, including venturing down to the Garden of Eden and finished off with a 3am wake up call to climb Mt Sonder for sunrise. The final day was about recovery, so a swim in Ormiston Gorge was organised, wrapping up the trip with relaxing campfire on the last night.

History Tour 2024 – Germany and Italy
During the September/October school holidays, 34 students and five teachers embarked on an unforgettable History Tour to Germany and Italy. Our students explored key historical sites in Munich, Nuremberg, Berlin, and Salzburg, gaining deep insights into WWII and the Cold War. Highlights included visits to the Nazi Rally Grounds, Dachau Concentration Camp, and the Berlin Wall.
In Italy, the journey continued with visits to Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Rome. Students experienced the rich history of Ancient Rome, from the Colosseum to the Trevi Fountain, and even enjoyed a pizza-making class in Sorrento.
This tour provided us with immersive learning experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of history and culture. We invite prospective families to join MLC School, where educational adventures await!

Year 3 at Stanwell Tops
This year’s Year 3 Camp was an unforgettable adventure filled with laughs, challenges, and bravery. Our young explorers showed their daring sides with each activity, making us incredibly proud.
The giant swing was a highlight, with students soaring through the air amidst screams of excitement. They also enjoyed an Indigenous session, tasting lemon myrtle and wattle seed, learning about traditional hunting weapons, and playing new games. Rock wall climbing tested their courage, with many reaching the top and celebrating with huge smiles and high-fives.
We had a blast and are already counting down to next year’s camp for more laughs and new memories.
