Chloe’s Design becomes a Mascot for Campaign Against Single-Use Plastics

Plastic Oceans Australia (POA) is a charity organisation operating out of Melbourne, Victoria. The organisation works throughout Australasia to change the way people deal with plastic waste by challenging society’s perceptions about its use and disposability. In August/September of this year, they ran a competition inviting young artists across the country to design and illustrate a new mascot for their campaign against single-use plastics. The mascot is intended to also be used in their Education Program, which is used by students all across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.

The challenge was sent out to all Year 7 Geography students. After receiving entries from across the country, Chloe (Year 7)’s submission to POA was awarded one of the four Runners Up prizes. Her illustration will be used in their events and marketing materials across the region.

Congratulations, Chloe!
