Fort Street Swimming Carnival 2022
On Monday 7th February, the annual FSHS Swimming Carnival was held at Ashfield Swimming Pool. The day was a great success with students across all year levels competing in a range of events. The day got off to a slow start, as rain delayed the start of the first event. However, a minor detail such as the weather, was not going to dampen the famous Fort Street spirit. We pushed on and after the first couple of events the sun came out.
The student body should be commended on their excellent participation and effort in the pool, as well as their exemplary behaviour in the stands. With some great individual performances throughout the day and some brilliant mixed relays to finish the carnival, the day went off without a hitch.
With the school’s new House System to be implemented in the very near future, the students were split into their original year 7 homeroom groupings for the carnival. This made for an interesting mix and when the dust settled at the end of the day, there was a very close finish for first and second in house points. Congratulations to the temporary ‘O-House’ for coming out on top. Congratulations also to the following students, who put in a consistently high effort throughout the day and walked away as age group champions:
