Our Year Begins

Our Year Begins

What a smooth and calm start to the year it has been!

Firstly, a very warm welcome to our new families joining the FCC community, we are so blessed to have you with us. It is a joy to see our community continue to grow. This year, we have welcomed 102 new students across the College

Next, it is with great joy that we welcome our new staff members joining us across both Primary and Secondary this year. With 117 staff members across our College, we are truly blessed to work together, share life together, and encourage one another in both our professional and personal journeys.

At FCC, we are more than just a team we are a Christ centred community. Each staff member brings unique gifts and talents, united by a shared passion for Christian education and a heart for serving our students and families. As we welcome our new staff, we pray that they feel at home here, surrounded by a supportive and faith-filled environment.

As we begin this new year, it’s always important to reflect on where we came from. While we know our school is ultimately God’s work, FCC began 28 years ago when a small group of Christian parents desired something different for their children’s education, an environment where every staff member is a practicing Christian, and where faith is not just an add on but the foundation of all learning. Their vision was for education to be woven with Christian values and deeply embedded in biblical truth.

Today, 28 years later, we stand on a 23-acre campus with established facilities and over 740 students enrolled. We remain committed to being authentic in our faith, Christ-centred in our approach, and dedicated to providing students with a strong education that enables them to thrive.

Primary at FCC

Our Primary School is flourishing, providing a rich and engaging learning environment for our students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our K-2 students experience inquiry based learning with a balanced approach, ensuring they have hands on, interactive experiences while also benefiting from explicit teaching that builds strong foundational skills. In Years 3-6, students engage in project based learning, fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, all while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality education.

Beyond the classroom, our Primary programs continue to thrive. Our Esteem program for Years 3 and 4 helps students develop strong character and a firm understanding of their identity in Christ. In Years 5 and 6, students further develop leadership, teamwork, and life skills through the GRIT program, participation in interschool sport, and meaningful community service partnerships. Through activities such as visiting aged care facilities, learning woodwork and digital technology, and engaging in arts and crafts, our students are equipped with practical skills and a heart to serve others.

We are so proud of the incredible learning opportunities our Primary students experience, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow in faith, character, and academic excellence.

Secondary at FCC

Our Secondary school continues to grow from strength to strength, expanding subject offerings to support all pathways, including ATAR, Trade, and General courses. We have a dedicated team working closely with students and parents from Years 9-12 to help them navigate and choose the right pathway for their future. It is exciting to see our students equipped for success, knowing they are supported in an environment where Christ is at the centre of all we do.

Our Arts Department is thriving, offering students a wide range of opportunities, including music programs, performing arts, photography, and visual arts. We are also excited seeing our 2025 production of The Sound of Music coming alive, which is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents.

Our Outdoor Education and Physical Education programs are also going from strength to strength, offering fitness programs tailored to individual needs and hands-on experiences such as boating qualifications, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing, and more. Our Physical Recreation program provides students the opportunity to learn golf, tennis, swimming, sailing, and other activities promoting life-long exercise.

In the MDT (Materials, Design & Technology) and Engineering spaces, students are thriving under the guidance of skilled educators, engaging in hands-on learning that inspires creativity and innovation.

Of course, core subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, and ATAR subjects remain at the heart of our academic focus. Delivery of content and the modelling of concepts and skills is taught through high quality, explicit instructional practices at the whole class level. Our team is implementing the Gradual Release Responsibility model: ‘I do, we do, you do’. This structured, systematic approach is inclusive and supports learners of all abilities, especially in the acquisition stage of learning. This approach promotes adaptability and assists all students in the advancement of their learning.

Our Heart

We are committed to providing a Christ centred education that goes beyond academics. Our Whole College Christian Living Program offers a unique, Bible based curriculum designed to help students live out their faith with confidence and authenticity.

This program is more than just a subject it is an intentional, unapologetic approach to applying biblical truth in daily life. Through engaging lessons, discussions, and real life application, students are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus, develop a strong Christian worldview, and learn what it means to live authentically in faith, character, and action.

We are blessed to partner with families in raising a generation of young people who stand firm in their faith who are equipped to make a difference in the world around them. We are incredibly proud of the exciting opportunities available for our students and look forward to seeing them flourish in their learning and personal growth.

We look forward to continuing a fantastic year ahead!

Kind regards,
