Market Day – end of term Celebration!

Market Day – end of term Celebration!

Congratulations to our Year 9 and 10 HASS Students on producing amazing stalls for our third annual Market Day.

The event was enjoyed by the whole College, and we were impressed at the creativity and entrepreneurial skills that were shown by Market Stall holders. There was a huge variety of sweets, savoury food, trinkets and handmade items. It was encouraging to see a majority of students choosing to make products to sell and being so creative in their chosen products.

Part of the lunchtime entertainment was a performance by some of our Strings Students and their tutor Miss Andrews.

The event was part of their HASS unit where students had to form a team, choose a product, market it, make it and sell it. After the event, each stall handed in their tokens, and taxed according to their earnings. All taxes will be donated to the chosen charity “Voice of Grace”. Last year over $700 was raised, given the number of students happily shopping, one can hope this total will be beaten this year!

As a College we also wore free dress in exchange for a gold coin donation and Mrs Kemp was overjoyed at your generosity! This will also be added to the donation to “Voice of Grace”!

Congratulations Mrs Kemp and Mrs le Roux for coordinating such a wonderful event, it is a highlight on our calendar and brings so much joy to the end of term 2!
