Japanese Exchange Students

Japanese Exchange Students

In August we welcomed 20 years 7 – 10 Japanese Students, who live in Singapore, to our Secondary School. The group spent nine days in Western Australia and five of those days were at our college. They were able to experience life in our culture, Australian education and subjects as well as their first ever ice-cream from an icecream truck!

Interestingly, these students do not have subjects such as Drama, Outdoor Education and Woodwork at their school, so experiencing those subjects was also a treat for them and a revelation to our students as to how blessed we are with such opportunities. Twenty-four of our students were “buddies” for the five days our Japanese visitors were here, and some great friendships have been formed, as well as an interest in visiting their new friends overseas!

We were very proud of our students for the way they welcomed our visitors to the College. In December we will host another group for two days, so we are looking forward to this! If you can host a student please see the post at the end of this article.
