Year 7 Mobile Dairy Incursion

Year 7 Mobile Dairy Incursion

On Wednesday, 4 June, our Year 7 Technology students were treated to an engaging and hands-on visit from A Smart Farmer, a mobile dairy incursion that brings the farm experience directly to schools.

Farmer Jess and her assistant Tiana arrived with three friendly cows from their Camden property: three Jersey Heifers, named ‘HD’, ‘Memory’, and ‘Shamrock’

Throughout the morning, students had the opportunity to milk a cow, observe the process of separating milk and cream, and even try their hand at making soft cheese. Farmer Jess also shared valuable insights into how a dairy farm operates, explained the various breeds of dairy cows in Australia, and explored the journey milk takes from cow to consumer.

It was a fun, educational, and very memorable experience for all involved!
