Staff Mass
As the staff commenced a new school year filled with anticipation and hope, we were blessed to begin the first day by celebrating Mass in the College Chapel. Many thanks to Fr Michael McLean from St Mark’s Parish Drummoyne, for encouraging us for the year ahead as he reflected on the Words of Scripture, uplifting the staff with the message of healing and support that we offer in our vocation.
We also welcomed new staff to the College, with the traditional gift of a lantern, as a symbol of the Presentation Charism. Along with the lantern, a symbol of Christ’s light that we carry forward, new staff received a copy of Sr Noela Fox’s PVBM book “The Orphan with a Hundred Mothers,” which was launched at the College last year in May. The story that unfolds reflects the welcome, hospitality and values of Domremy College.
The Staff Mass served as a source of inspiration, encouraging us to approach the challenges and opportunities of the coming year with faith, resilience, and a sense of togetherness. Special thanks to Mrs Romina Zappulla, Mr Glenn Magson and the Domremy Staff Choir, who provided the music ministry to support our worship of the Lord.
Mrs Jane Sullivan, Religious Education Coordinator
Father,
you call us together at the beginning of this new school year.
We ask you to send your spirit upon us that,
as the days and terms unfold,
we may be always mindful of your presence
and alert to opportunities to see and serve you in those around us.
We pray that we may teach well by the example of our own lives,
by our knowledge and love of learning,
by our gentleness and care of the pupils entrusted to us.
In all that we do and say,
we pray that, in building up the community of our school,
we may contribute to the betterment of society
and to the Kingdom of your Son, Jesus Christ,
for your greater glory.
Amen.
