Prayer

God of peace and compassion,

On this ANZAC Day we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice,

and service of the men and women who have defended our country.

We honour the ANZACs – their endurance, their mateship,

and their willingness to place others before themselves.

May the memory of their bravery inspire us to live with generosity, integrity,

and a deep commitment to peace.

We pray for all who continue to serve today, in Australia and around the world.

Keep them safe, guide their decisions,

and surround their families with strength and comfort.

We remember also the cost of war – the lives lost, the communities changed,

and the wounds that remain.

Today, we commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice, freedom, and peace.

May we be granted the wisdom and fortitude to strive towards creating a brighter and more harmonious world. Amen.

Teach us to be people who build peace in our homes, our school, and our world. Amen.
