From The Study Hub

At Domremy we understand that students need to move beyond the four walls of our College and connect with the wider community and even globally.

That is why we encourage our students to reach out to resources available for free in our state, our nation and our world.

Last week I sent out a Compass notification inviting our senior students (Years 10,11 and 12) to join the NSW State Library, and access the very many resources available to them there.

Obtaining a NSW State Library card is a quick and easy process online by using this link https://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/research-and-collections/get-library-card

There is an enormous advantage for our senior students in being a member of the NSW State Library. Some of the benefits, and a vast many more, are:

  • Quick access to books and other collection material to use in the Library – just reserve items online ahead of your visit and they will be ready for you when you arrive.
  • Booked sessions on free computers.
  • Free access to lockers to store your bags
  • Free access to bookable study rooms
  • Print, scan and photocopy services
  • eBooks, journal and academic articles, and other research material including ProQuest, Gale, EBSCO, and JSTOR.
  • Unlimited access to 1000’s of international magazines and newspapers including the Sydney Morning Herald.
  • Online eResources to help you research your family history, study for the HSC and explore a wide range of subjects
  • Access to a network of library collections across Australia – you can use your library card to request some books and collection material from other libraries to use at the Library.
