Ash Wednesday and Domremy Lenten Prayer Challenge
Ash Wednesday, 14 February 2024, began the liturgical season of Lent.
We celebrated Ash Wednesday with a whole school liturgy with the blessed ashes. The signing of the blessed ashes and words spoken are a reminder of tuning in to what is important during the 40 days in the lead-up to Easter and more importantly for life.
Later in this Issue you will find the Message of the Holy Father Francis for Lent 2024, on the theme: “Through the desert God leads us to freedom” as well as the Catholic Church’s guidelines about Lenten Penance in a letter from Archbishop Fisher. These may give you some ideas to deepen your understanding of the Lenten season.
At the College we have our Domremy Lenten Prayer Challenge to guide us through this season. Please feel free to pray along with us and be more aware and engaged in Lent this year.
