Dear Parents and Carers

Our week began with our House Swimming and Multi-Sports Carnival. This is a tremendous House-based day that saw some outstanding swimming in the AFC and some wonderful sporting experiences, especially for our younger students, when they were not in the pool. There is no doubt that the House spirit is alive and well in the Senior School!

As the term is now in full swing, our Year 12 students have been making a serious contribution to the lives of our junior students. Under the leadership of Theo Walsh and Angus Malcolm, our Year 12s have managed to imbed some superb qualities through the Houses with the younger students. The strength of this peer teaching and coaching is palpable and our juniors have learned how important it is to take care of one another and to ensure that every member of this community is welcomed and supported. The Prefects’ strategy of care for our younger students is the best that I can remember, and I commend Year 12s for this.

I would like to thank Year 7s for their maturity and engagement with Consent Labs as part of their Student Wellbeing Programme; this topic requires a mature outlook and an ability to think ahead and the reports from Housemasters have been superb. Please read the update from our Director of Student Wellbeing, Angelique Sanders, for more information.

Tonight, we welcome our Year 12 Parents for a social evening and a tour of the Year 12 College, hosted by Mr Alastair Metcalf. I look forward to seeing you there this evening.

I particularly like to congratulate our 1st XI cricketers, who have secured their fifth consecutive CAS Premiership, with three games to play. This has equalled the CAS record that was held by Knox Grammar School.

A reminder that our swimmers are in action at the CAS Swimming Championship on Thursday 14 March; our Year 9, 10 and 11 students and Prefects will hopefully be in fine voice to cheer on our hard-working swimmers.

Have a great week!

Best wishes,
