Message from Michele Marquet
Dear Parents,
Last Monday, our Y6 TheatreSports Team competed in their final at St Patrick’s College, which they won! We congratulate them on their amazingly creative and funny efforts and the superb teamwork displayed across both the heat and final: Marcus Retboell, Michael Ibrahim, Hugo Lindley, Max Newby, Julian Rozsa and Lachlan Randall-White. Thank you to our JS Drama Teacher, Sophie Boniface, who along with Amber Virtue, Speech & Drama Co-curricular Teacher, prepared the boys so well!
Term 4 continues to race past with boys working on their final unit for the year and preparations for our end of year activities well underway.
Last week, Y2-Y6 families will have received their invitation to the Junior School Prize Giving, which is being held on Monday, 11 December at 10am. Communication to the families of prize or award winners is not made until the week prior to Prize Giving. Junior School boys should attend school as normal from the start of the day (drop off from 7:45am), wearing full summer uniform (no sports gear should be worn on this day) and they should bring their normal recess. Parking for families attending is best sought at Lyne Park, Rose Bay Ferry and Manion Road Car Parks. This event will conclude at approximately 12pm – 12:15pm, when the students will head home for the Christmas holidays accompanied by their parents. We will also run a carline at that time if parents need to collect their sons.
Many beautifully written acceptances to the Y3-Y6 Christmas Lunch have been posted in our special red post-box in Reception. I look forward to reading a RSVP from every boy in Y3-Y6 as the excitement builds for the Christmas Lunch in a few weeks’ time. Boys should also be planning their special Christmas Hat to wear on the day. Parents can read further information about the lunch via the Operoo note sent recently to their inbox.
This week, we welcome parents to the Y2 Strings Concert and next week the Y3 Strings/Brass/Woodwind Concert. Details have been sent out via Operoo.
Current Address & JS Office Holiday Closure
As we head towards the end of the year, it is most important that the School has your up-to-date address on our database. If your mailing address has changed recently, please email familyupdates@cranbrook.nsw.edu.au, so these details can be updated before reports, class allocations and start of year information are posted out. Please remember that the Junior School Office is closed over the holiday period from 14 December 2023 until 23 January 2024.
Reports, Class Allocations and Start of Term Information
Parents are reminded that their son’s 2023 Semester 2 report, 2024 class allocation and information about the start of 2023 will be emailed during the holidays.
Y3-Y6 Christmas Lunch Volunteers
This week, our CSPA Vice President (Junior School), Angelique Haritos, contacted Y3-Y6 parents via an Operoo email to explain how they could assist with our annual Christmas Lunch and how this process is organised. We are very grateful to those parents who are in a position to help on the day or in other ways and thank them in advance for their assistance.
We are encouraging our students to do some jobs at home during the month of November, so they can raise some funds to help children in other parts of the world who may be experiencing a hard time at the moment.
