Dear Parents,
Another superb evening was held on Tuesday night at Greater Than, the whole school musical showcase, at the Sydney Town Hall. The Junior School boys’ performances, vocally and instrumentally, individually and in combined items, were breathtakingly beautiful. Our Senior School boys were also extraordinary – every item memorable and showcasing the marvellous musical talent of a huge number of Cranbrookians. Once again, our heartfelt thanks must go to our truly outstanding Music staff, led by Philip Beverley, Head of Music P-12, who inspire and allow these talents to flourish and be shared. A gallery from the evening can be viewed below.
French Day
Our fabulous French teachers, Monsieur Chaveroux and Madame Garcia, organised a fun-filled French Day yesterday for all our K-Y6 students! Welcomed in the morning by an accordionist playing French music and entertained at lunchtime by some clowns, the day proved to be lots of fun. The boys participated in a wide range of experiences, including making bagatelles, engaging in an art competition, playing a vocab game, taking part in a dancing workshop and making a banner of all the flags for the French-speaking countries. Thank you to Monsieur Chaveroux and Madame Garcia for their enormous efforts and enthusiasm for promoting the speaking of French.
Y3-Y6 Athletics Carnival
An enormous thank you to Mr Roughan, Mr Cohen, Mr Taylor, Mr Hardes and all the staff who organised and conducted the Y3-Y6 Athletics Carnival today. We were treated to a glorious day and the boys showed fantastic spirit and enthusiasm.
Staff News
We wanted to let our families know that Year 2R Class teacher, Mr David Holmsen will be taking long service leave from Week 2 Term 3 for the remainder of the year. We wish him a relaxing and refreshing period of leave. During his absence, we welcome Mrs Kate Stead to teach 2R. Kate is returning to Cranbrook. She has been living in the UK for the past 10 years and has taught at a number of schools in England and brings a wealth of knowledge and passion.
The staff and I thank all our Junior School and Pre-school families for their ongoing support and we wish everyone a safe and relaxing holiday break. We look forward to seeing everyone at the start of Term 3.
Kind wishes,
Michele Marquet
