Message from Michele Marquet

Dear Parents,

What a joyful day we had yesterday, welcoming over 1000 grandparents to the Junior School for the first time since 2019. It is always very special to have our students’ grandparents visit the Junior School. It is wonderful to watch the interactions and helps to remind us all of the vital role this generation plays in the lives of our young Cranbrook students.

Easter Service

A reminder that next Wednesday, 5 April, our K-Y6 students should be dropped off at the Junior School by 8:10am, as usual, so we can bus them up to the Senior School.

The K-Y6 Easter Service will commence at 9am in the Vicars Centenary Building. Parents are very welcome to join us.

We will then bus the Junior School boys to the Senior School campus (and back at the conclusion of the service).

IMPORTANT: Y3 – Y6 Change to Uniforms on Training Days

We have reviewed the time taken to change into sports gear on training days, the loss of lesson or play time and the amount of lost property resulting from changing gear for the afternoon training sessions and have decided to make some changes to what the boys wear to school on their training days.

Starting in Term 2, students should wear the following to school on their winter sports training, PE and Sport days.

Mondays:

Y3 – Y4 students training for Rugby/Football should now wear to school their Cranbrook training gear (including their relevant training jersey) or their navy Cranbrook PE gear (if their Rugby/Football training gear is unavailable for any reason). Rugby/Football should wear their sports shoes to school and bring their boots/shin pads with them to change into before training commences.

Winter tennis students should wear to school their navy Cranbrook PE gear and sports shoes.

Tuesdays:

Y5 – Y6 students training for Rugby/Football should now wear to school their Cranbrook training gear (including their relevant training jersey) or their navy Cranbrook PE gear (if their Rugby/Football training gear is unavailable for any reason). Rugby/Football should wear their sports shoes to school and bring their boots/shin pads with them to change into before training commences.

Wednesday or Thursdays:

Currently, students in Y3 – Y6 who have a PE lesson on one of these days wear their navy PE gear and sports shoes and should continue to do so.

Fridays:

All students have Sport on a Friday afternoon. The Y3 – Y6 boys should wear to school their Cranbrook Football or Rugby training gear (including the relevant training jersey) or their navy Cranbrook PE gear (for all other sports or if Rugby/Football training gear is unavailable for any reason). They should all wear their sports shoes. Football/Rugby should bring their boots/shin pads with them to change into at lunchtime.

Reuse & Recycle Uniform Sale

Thank you to our Pre-school and Junior School parents who helped man the stalls at the Reuse & Recycle Uniform Sale this week. The funds raised will be donated to the Starlight Foundation, a charity chosen by our Junior School Cranbrook Service Committee. This Committee is made up of a class rep from each Y2-Y6 class and is led by some of our Year 6 students.

We are most grateful to Junior School parents: Sophie Klaas, Jamie Fox, Nonie Elliott, Miranda Latimer, Laura Goldberg, Maria Peterson, Sonia Roberts, Amy Wong and Amanda Hansimikali and Sam Roberts; and from the Senior School: Amy Dusseldorp, Laura Goldberg, Amy Adamson, Natalie Samuelson, Sascha Cronin, Kylie Owen and Mim Stacey.

Kind wishes,

Michele Marquet
