Dear Parents,

It has been wonderful to see so many Junior School families at the Senior School campus over the past week. Many enjoyed the fun-filled and polished performances in the new Packer Theatre of the musical, ‘School of Rock’. With perfect weather all day last Saturday, so many of our community were also able to revel in their first real foray into the Vicars Centenary Building and other new facilities at the Senior School. The new building, the Chapel and surrounds, as well as the Aquatics and Fitness Centre, are truly magnificent and our JS students can look forward with eager anticipation to utilising all these spaces in due course – even before they get to Senior School.

Superbly prepared by Peter Fox and Jane Holmes à Court, our Junior School Chamber Choir excelled in their performance of ‘Dare to Dream’ at the official opening of the new facilities with the NSW Governor in attendance. Thank you to our families who supported the delicious high tea on offer throughout the afternoon by providing some yummy food and serving the 3000+ guests throughout the afternoon!

JS Reception
Junior School Reception is now fully functioning again. Parents are welcome to come into Reception through the main entrance and to speak with Mrs Jill McPherson, our Office Manager about any matters she can assist them with at school. Students will also now need to go into Reception to be signed in, if they arrive at school after the start of the school day, or to be signed out, if they need to leave the campus early for any reason.

Staff News
We wish Mark De Brún the very best as he commences an extended period of paternity leave tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming him back to Cranbrook at the start of next year.

Junior School Psychologist
We are well into the process for appointing a new JS Psychologist. However, it looks likely that the new appointee will not be able to start until 2023.

For families requiring higher levels of psychological support, parents may wish to seek an external clinical psychologist until the start of 2023.

Otherwise, please contact Grant Andrews or Heather Brodie, if you are seeking support with socio-emotional and learning issues.

As soon as the appointment is finalised, we will let our families know.

World Teachers’ Day: Doff Your Cap
This day is celebrated next Friday, 28 October. We would love all our students to wear a cap, so they can doff their caps to thank their teachers for all they do.
