Little League Winter Sport Round 1
Round 1 of winter sport brought both excitement and challenges for our Cranbrook teams, with a mix of results across various fixtures. The 6A’s had a tough Friday night lights matchup against Knox under the lights at Knox Grammar. Despite facing a motivated Knox team celebrating their centenary and playing in front of a home crowd, our students fought valiantly. Although the scoreboard didn’t reflect their efforts, they showed improvement throughout the game and took valuable lessons to carry into the rest of the season.
Saturday morning saw cancellations for all rugby and tennis fixtures, as well as many away games in football due to inclement weather. Despite these setbacks, there were some standout performances across our teams. The 3A and B football teams got off to a strong start, securing wins against Sydney Grammar, while the 6B’s and C’s also started the season with victories.
The 6A’s faced weary legs on Saturday morning after their intense Friday night game, but they displayed resilience and determination on the field.
In Year 4, there were mixed results, with some excellent skills on display. As the season progresses, there is plenty of room for improvement, and we look forward to seeing our players develop and grow.
With many teams unable to play in Week 1 due to weather conditions, we remain hopeful that the rain will hold off for Round 2, allowing games to proceed as scheduled.
