Tennis Round 9

It was a beautiful, mild winter’s morning for the second week of Term 3’s Saturday winter training session.  Great fun was had in the agility based warmups.  Teams competed against each other to complete the tasks in the quickest time.  Coaches were looking for accuracy in footwork which challenged the boys!

The main element of the lesson was based on a tournament with the children playing in their set groups.  There was respect and good communication between the boys as they scored their own matches.  Most groups focused on adding height to their serves to avoid them hitting the net.  When it did, the boys demonstrated care and support to each other and serves were tried again.   Some excellent rallies were enjoyed across the courts and there was noticeable improvement with the boys taking more risk and running into shots they may previously have left.

All boys continue to develop their individual skills and football sense! Looking forward to a great contest in our final session next week.
