Little League Sports Report 7
Round 7 was a week of mixed results for our sports teams, there were some outstanding performances across all sports. The 6A football team showcased their hard work and dedication in one of their best games of the season, resulting in a well-deserved victory. Their efforts during training certainly paid off on the field.
Similarly, the 4A rugby team displayed exceptional skill, speed, and excellent structure, delivering yet another strong performance. Their teamwork and discipline were evident as they dominated the game.
As the school holidays approach, we would like to wish all the boys a well-deserved break. However, we encourage them to stay active and maintain their fitness levels during this time. Let’s keep up the effort and focus at training as we enter the latter stages of the winter season.
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday break.
Yours in sport,

Paul Kelly Cup
Three Cranbrook teams had a very successful day at the Eastern Suburbs Paull Kelly Cup AFL Competition last Wednesday. The event hosted 12 teams from local schools in a short format tournament with two pools and a final.
Our three teams all performed well with many of the boys rapidly learning a new sport and developing their skills over the day. Cranbrook 3 played a string of close games throughout the day where the difference was less than two goals. With the wind playing havoc the boys did a great job of improving game on game and should be proud of what they achieved in a short period.
Going into the final game of the pools, Cranbrook 1 and Cranbrook 2 were each sitting second in their pools, tied on points with Saint Andrews and Bondi Public respectively. With the ties being broken by goal difference the boys needed to not only win their next game, however, win by a much larger margin than their competition to move to the final game.
Cranbrook 1 kicked it up a gear and managed to belt out 62 points against an outgunned Cranbrook 3, surging their points difference score and soundly booking a spot in the finals. Cranbrook 2 came against Maroubra Junction and absorbed significant second half pressure to finish 33 points ahead. ultimately beating Bondi on the ladder by a points difference of less than 4%.
The teams were thrilled to set up an all Cranbrook final between the 1’s and the 2’s, which turned out to be an electric game with both teams scoring several goals and Cranbrook 1 coming out as the overall winners by a few goals. This qualifies us through to the reginal finals in August. The boys will continue training Tuesday mornings and we will also have AFL games as a Co-Curricular on Monday afternoons next term. If your son is in year 5 or 6 and wants to have a kick around after school, please sign up through the Co-Curricular form.
