Terra Fabula in Year 4
Over the course of last week, Year 4 played Terra Fabula, an immersive experience that guided them through a series of challenges and inquiries to create their own fictional land and people. Students employed their geographical, scientific, mathematical and English skills, as they mapped landscapes, built communities and shared resources. But what happens when Explorers arrive? And then Settlers?
The students were cognitively and emotionally so engaged in the creation of their island worlds and this experience has helped them grasp the implications of when other people take over the place where you live and love. It has truly set them up for their next unit of inquiry! Thanks to Mr Brett Rolfe (Director of Strategy, People and Culture) for his creation of Terra Fabula and his guidance of the students through the process with the Year 4 Teaching Team.
