Message from Michele Marquet
Dear Parents,
The term continues to be busy with events and finishing off units of inquiry. Earlier this week, some of our singers headed to Goodwin Village to entertain their older residents with carols. Next week, our Year 6 boys share their Exhibition Learning Journey with their families and the broader school community. The end of the week will see all of Y2 -Y6 head to SOPAC for our annual Swimming Carnival.
Over the past four weeks, our Cranbrook Junior Red and Blue Debating teams have competed in an International Debating Competition online. We congratulate both teams on their achievements and wish our Cranbrook Junior Blue team (Ethan Goldberg, Sebastian Koczkar, Rahul Loomba and Ishy Somia) well as they progress to the Semi-Finals tomorrow evening.
Congratulations to our Junior School’s Theatresports team who participated in the regional final last week, held at St Andrew’s Cathedral School in the city. The team worked strongly, creatively and humorously and were placed first in a final of a very high standard from all schools participating. Their final ‘game’ was superb: an original Broadway Musical created on the spot. Wonderful teamwork was evident throughout from team members Julian Davison, Finn Dusseldorp, Ethan Goldberg, Monte Smith and Sebastian Trantalis. Enormous thanks to JS Drama Teacher, Sophie Boniface, and Speech and Drama Teacher, Amber Virtue, who spent many hours honing the boys’ drama skills. We look forward to participating again in 2023.
Current Address & JS Office Holiday Closure
As we head towards the end of the year, it is most important that the School has your up-to-date address on our database. If your mailing address has changed recently, please email familyupdates@cranbrook.nsw.edu.au, so these details can be updated before reports, class allocations and start of year information are posted out. Please remember that the Junior School Office is closed over the holiday period from 14 December 2022 until 27 January 2023.
Reports, Class Allocations and Start of Term Information
Parents are reminded that their son’s 2022 Semester 2 report, 2023 class allocation and information about the start of 2023 will be sent home via mail during December.
