class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prep<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Central Idea: <strong>Communities work together<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inquiry into:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>roles and responsibilities in our local community<\/li><li>roles and responsibilities in our school community<\/li><li>our role and responsibility as learners<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They are developing social, thinking and communication skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kindergarten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Central Idea: <strong>Guardianship of the planet is a shared responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inquiry into:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>reducing, reusing and recycling, renewing (Return and Earn, plastic recycling)<\/li><li>the needs of living things<\/li><li>how we can be guardians of our planet<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They are developing thinking, research and social skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Year 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Central Idea: Humans communicate with each other in verbal and nonverbal ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inquiry into:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the effectiveness of different communication systems: electronic, spoken, written, action<\/li><li>the relationship between participants: (speaker\/ viewer\/ listener)<\/li><li>different ways of expressing that contribute to aesthetics<\/li><li>how culture is represented through aspects of aesthetics<\/li><li>ways to manipulate aesthetic elements to express ourselves<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They are identity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inquiry into:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>how we decide what is significant to commemorate or celebrate<\/li><li>commemorations and celebrations
