Gioia House Action Girls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This week, we proudly recognised a group of outstanding Year 5 and Year 6 students who received an Action Girl Award and badge for consistently demonstrating the qualities that strengthen our school community. These students have shown respectful behaviour in the classroom, a strong commitment to their learning and a genuine dedication to being kind and inclusive towards others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their actions, from supporting classmates, showing empathy, participating positively in group work and modelling responsible choices, reflect the values we aim to nurture in all Gioia House students. Alongside their achievements at school, these students have also engaged in outreach opportunities, contributing to initiatives that help others beyond our school. They have shown that small actions can make a big difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We congratulate our Action Girls for being role models. Their efforts inspire others and help build a school environment where every student feels valued and included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Patrick’s and Gioia House Public Speaking Competition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This term, all Gioia House students have worked hard to develop their public speaking skills. Every student wrote and prepared a thoughtful speech, practising clarity, confidence and audience engagement as part of our oral language and communication English program. From this impressive effort, a group of students were selected to represent our school at the Interschool Public Speaking Competition at St Patrick\u2019s College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our students delivered both prepared speeches and impromptu responses, showcasing quick thinking, strong expression and well\u2011structured ideas. Teachers and our adjudicator, Ms Jane Sulis, were genuinely impressed by the quality of their presentations and the maturity they displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This friendly competition was a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, celebrate their hard work and connect with peers from St Patrick\u2019s College. We are incredibly proud of all students for their dedication, and we congratulate them on representing our College with confidence and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R U OK? DAY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During Gioia House Community Time this week, students took part in a meaningful R U OK? Day session designed to strengthen connection and wellbeing across our school. Working in their House groups with their buddies, students enjoyed a Conversation Bingo activity that encouraged real check\u2011ins, thoughtful questions and supportive conversations. It was wonderful to see students engaging so positively and showing genuine care for one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After their conversations, students collaborated to create a bright and uplifting R U OK? mural. Each group contributed messages that remind us of ways we can support each other and look after our own wellbeing. The mural now stands as a visual reminder that small conversations can make a big difference, and that our school community is stronger when we look out for one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
