This year’s speeches focus on environmental topics including Caring for Country Helps Ecosystems Thrive, Why Every Living Thing Has a Role in Nature and Protecting Australia’s Environment Starts with Us. Throughout the program, students have developed their understanding of speech structure, language features and the PEEL paragraph, while learning how to engage an audience through strong speaking techniques. Students are now preparing for the next stage of the program, creating palm cards and practising their presentations in readiness for the Year 4 Public Speaking Heats, which will take place in Week 7. We look forward to seeing our students showcase their confidence, creativity and communication skills as they share their speeches with their classmates.

Ms Kate Bakhos, Ms Natalie Bejar, Ms Merissa Perivolarellis and Mr Edward Wang
Year 4 Teachers

Year 4 students have recently completed publishing their public speaking speeches after spending several weeks researching, planning, drafting and refining their work.
