{"id":21937,"date":"2026-08-27T09:13:53","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/ssc\/?post_type=article&#038;p=21937"},"modified":"2026-08-27T09:13:53","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:13:53","slug":"music-at-gioia-house-curricular-26","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/www.thebuzz.net.au\/ssc\/article\/music-at-gioia-house-curricular-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Music at Gioia House (Curricular)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gioia House Instrumental<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Our Gioia House musicians are buzzing with energy as they prepare for a wonderful season of performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 5 and 6 <strong>Mini Maestros<\/strong> are deep in rehearsal for their Fra Angelico items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Year 5 Mini Maestros<\/strong> are polishing selected works from <em>Essential Elements<\/em>, with a strong focus on ensemble skills, teamwork, and confident group performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Year 6 Mini Maestros<\/strong> are preparing pieces from <em>Essential Elements<\/em> alongside <em>A Shaker Hymn<\/em>, developing blend, balance, and musical independence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <strong>Gioia House Strings<\/strong> are also working towards two exciting events. Year 5 and 6 students are preparing for their combined Breakfast Concert with Sinfonietta on <strong>Monday 14 September<\/strong>, where they will join forces to form an orchestra of almost <strong>200 performers<\/strong>. They will present <em>Festival Fanfare<\/em> by Kathryn Griesinger \u2014 a joyful, energetic work that showcases their growing confidence and ensemble cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gioia House Choral<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gioia House Choir is singing beautifully as they prepare for several upcoming performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are currently rehearsing for the <strong>Father\u2019s Day Mass on 3 September<\/strong>, shaping warm tone, unified vowel sounds, and expressive phrasing. Alongside this, they are preparing their Fra Angelico repertoire: <em>Lakeside Lullaby<\/em> and <em>I Found Something I Was Searching For<\/em> by Pink Zebra.
