Year 4 students have had a fantastic start to the term and have quickly settled into their learning.
During library sessions this week, students have been developing their research skills, focusing on how to select appropriate and reliable sources across all areas of learning. Ms Doonan shared valuable strategies to help students evaluate whether a source is trustworthy and suitable for research purposes. Students will be applying these skills throughout the term in both their Science and HSIE units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In English, Year 4 are exploring narratives from different perspectives. They have begun studying Beth: The Story of a Child Convict<\/em> by Mark Wilson and will compare this text with Aboriginal perspectives of the First Settlement through books such as Somebody\u2019s Land<\/em> by Adam Goodes and For 60,000 Years<\/em> by Marlee Silva. Through these texts, students will examine how stories are shaped by perspective and how authors use language choices to build empathy and understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 4 students have also been working diligently on improving their handwriting as they work towards earning their Pen Licence. There is a great sense of excitement as students look forward to using pen in their workbooks and taking pride in their presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
