Each week at Gioia House, our Pi Maths class brings together curious minds for a deep dive into problem-solving. Young Scientist Competition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Phoebe\u2019s (Year 6) Young Scientist project combined curiosity, research, and a love of sport \u2013 \u2018What material makes a soccer ball travel faster?\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This topic was chosen because it can improve the performance of not just professional players \u2013 who have their own preferences and more precise results \u2013 but also everyday kids hoping to play to the best of their ability.<\/em>
Phoebe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She conducted an in-depth investigation into the anatomy of the foot and ran a series of practical tests\u2014kicking a soccer ball while wearing different types of boots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her goal? To discover which boot material offers the best performance. After careful analysis, Phoebe recommends fabric-based boots for optimal comfort and control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you’re in the market for a new pair of soccer boots, Phoebe\u2019s research might just kickstart your decision!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
