As we begin to bring 2024 to a close at Tallong I am able to reflect\u00a0on some of the content from the wonderful speech delivered by Dr Georgina Long AO, 2024 Australian of the Year, at the recent Speech Night. Dr Long touched on themes of resilience, grit and determination amongst many others. Having recently returned from 12 months travelling Australia\u00a0with my two boys\u00a0and wife in a camper trailer I can certainly\u00a0relate\u00a0to the domains\u00a0of resilience. The need for tenacity, collaboration, composure, reasoning and good health were all stretched and tested while we were on the road essentially\u00a0living\u00a0outside for a year. Do I think we are better for this experience? Absolutely!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programs\u00a0that we design and deliver at Tallong in many ways encapsulate\u00a0these domains of resilience and I am incredibly thankful and grateful\u00a0for the team of people we have at the campus\u00a0that brings these themes to life. Next week Mr Walker will bring\u00a0our outdoor student leaders to Tallong for a four-day intensive\u00a0leadership\u00a0program\u00a0that will help\u00a0our students unpack some of these domains of resilience\u00a0and each of our students will be stretched and personal growth will be catalysed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
