They have looked at the length of different objects and compared lengths directly by placing objects side by side and aligning the ends. Students can correctly use terms such as \u2018tall\u2019 \u2018short\u2019 \u2018about the same,\u2019 \u2018shortest\u2019 and \u2018longest\u2019 when discussing length.
