The Del Monte Library is thrilled to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) next week. This annual event brings together children, families, and book lovers across the country to read the same picture book simultaneously. And this year, we\u2019re diving into the vibrant world of Bowerbird Blues<\/em> by Aura Parker!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bowerbird Blues<\/em> follows the journey of a beautiful bowerbird on a quest for all things blue. From the sea to the sky, the bowerbird soars, collecting vibrant treasures to adorn its nest. But this isn\u2019t just any nest \u2013 it\u2019s a mix of natural and unnatural objects that attract something greater and more fulfilling than the bird could ever imagine. This moving story of longing and connection will captivate readers of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSS celebrates the joy of reading and literacy, uniting libraries, schools, and families. When we read together, we foster language development, learning, and community bonds. Plus, it\u2019s a lot of fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can you get involved? Search for blue treasures!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the bowerbird\u2019s quest, explore your surroundings for recyclable blue items. Think plastic bottles, paper, fabric, or anything else that fits the theme! Bring your blue treasures to the Del Monte Library. Together, we\u2019ll create a stunning bower inspired by the book. Let\u2019s make it a colourful, community-driven masterpiece!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
