Music at Del Monte and Mary Bailey House
Music at Mary Bailey House (Curricular)
The end of year is approaching fast and the Mary Bailey House Tree Frogs are not slowing down! After their fantastic performance at the Fra Angelico, they are now busy preparing for their End of Year Concert. The students will be showcasing some of the songs they have learned throughout the year, including Funga Alafia and Umbalayo.
Over the past year, the students have grown in many ways, especially in their listening skills, movement to music and understanding of musical concepts. It has been a joy to watch these students grow and develop this year and I wish all the students going to Kindergarten next year all the best as they start this journey.
Music at Del Monte (Curricular)
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! In class music we have been enjoying drumming and singing to some of our favourite Christmas carols to revise our concepts of pitch and rhythm. We can use rhythm names and coordinate our drumsticks in new ways to create rhythmic compositions with a Christmas theme.
We are immensely proud of our students who have performed in the Dominican Awards, Speech Night, Assemblies, the Nativity, the Advent Service and our Mass. It is a busy time of year for our young performers and they have all worked hard in their preparation.
