Pastoral update

Ice-blocks keep everyone calm on our last day

To seal off a year of learning, making connections, building community and having fun, all students shared a well-deserved cool treat yesterday, with zooper doopers for all grades. The ice-blocks rewarded their collective efforts of collecting paddle pops for their House Colour groups by making good choices, being a good friend to others, building community and spreading kindness, and were shared against the backdrop of student-created artworks on our Wall of Kindness that now graces our Warami play area.

Paretns: Learn the Language of Friendship

As the seal off a year of learning where students have embraced our Friendology lessons and are developing a toolkit of strategies to build, maintain and navigate friendships, I would like to invite parents to learn more about the language of friendship we use in this program. This can be done by signing up for a URSTRONG Family Membership (free of charge by virtue of our school membership to the program).

When you sign up, you will have access to a series of videos to watch with your child including:

Session 1: Connecting with the Real You
Session 2: How to Make Friends
Session 3: What’s Normal in a Friendship
Session 4: Healthy vs Unhealthy Friendships
Session 5: How to Put out Friendship Fires
Session 6: Standing up to Mean-on-Purpose Behaviour
Session 7: Dealing with an Unhealthy Friendship
Session 8: How to Calm the Butterflies

You will also have access to hundreds of resources, articles and activities to continue supporting you and your child on their friendship journey.

Thank you and Christmas Wishes

On a personal note, I would like to thank you for what has been a wonderful year and wish you and your families a very joyful and peaceful Christmas. I hope that you enjoy many special memories with family and friends over the holiday break.

God bless,
