After a hugely successful Book Week, I am pleased to announce the winners of two of our Book Week competitions.\u00a0 Congratulations to Eliza Carter in Year 7 whose \u2018spine poem\u2019 entry was voted the winner and to Maddison Warren in Year 10 who wrote an especially \u2018intriguing first line\u2019.\u00a0 Their winning entries can be viewed below.\u00a0 These ladies each win a $20 gift voucher to Mary Who Bookshop.\u00a0 A big thank you to all who participated and all who voted.<\/p>\n
Since then, we have been busy celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day with an influx of fabulous new fiction books and poetry collections, including several written by young Indigenous authors.\u00a0 Students participated in an Indigenous Language quiz, exposing them to a range of Indigenous words and their origins, and had the opportunity to listen to recordings of stories told in Indigenous languages.\u00a0 Additionally, we have celebrated the ever-favourite Roald Dahl\u2019s birthday, as well as R U Okay Day.\u00a0 We are looking forward to yet more themed displays and activities in Term 4.<\/p>\n
I am also keen to advise you of another incredibly useful addition to our resources that will assist students in their research and inquiry endeavours.\u00a0 Students now have access to a curated list of subject specific links to websites that have been vetted for accuracy, relevancy and authority.\u00a0 These links provide a great starting point for research tasks, directing students to valid and useful information.\u00a0 Simply open up the Library homepage and select the relevant subject tab for access to these links.\u00a0 As always, I am ready and able to assist students with any of their research tasks.<\/p>\n
